I'd like to so called "learn" about it.

So what and how do I start?

What's needed?

What software do I need to install?

I just been to GoDaddy, so I know hosting is a must , but can i actually do the creating and edit over the PC before I even host it?

Any pointers?

I'm keen to make the business running. So help me.

Easiest way Ben is to find a hosting company that can install it for you. Mine has a 'one click' install. Then I'd make a backup copy of the original install including the Database, then i'd just get in there and get my hands dirty. It's a big learning curve but the secret is to ALWAYS back anything up before you mess with it. That way you can always restore the original files, and search these forums too. People are helpful here as long as you're polite but try not to ask questions that have already been dealt with.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your contribution. So what hosting company are you actually using?

I apologise if I(or I am) something that's going over and over again. I just went to some site bulding company and they charge me skyrocketing prices for a site that threw me off. So I decided to stick with the plain old style of asking around. Until I really messed up, then I might seek for the pros.

You couldn't afford me! ;) No just asking because I generally like my hosting in the same country. It just helps with support etc..

Well I use Heartinternet in the UK and they're great. I once used a US hosting company called webhost4life who also installed OSC and seemed pretty good. Any NZ/ Aussie based ones around?
