purplemartinart Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I saw the contribution for propay by kazack and wanted to use them for my CC. (Paypal has really ticked me off) but when i read that contribution I wonder if that is the same contribution I would use for my very small shop with the basic propay account. The contribution mentions avoiding the 400 dollar api fee but I thought the whole deal with propay was a once a year charge then the percentage for each transaction. Am I missing something? Anyone with experience on this contribution? I tried PM kazack but they must not be on the forum anymore. Thanks, Susan Proudly uses Oscommerce!
Guest Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 First off, I haven't implemented this contrib yet, so I dont have 1st hand experience with it. The $400 fee it is referring too, is the fee to automatically process the credit card directly from your checkout, just like any other processor. You wouldnt have to manually enter the CC numbers each time, it would just send the data to propay and process the card for you. This is a special service that you sign up for thru propay. This contrib is a workaround for that, it does what the $400 code from propay would do. That said, this contrib got off to a strange start, and if you search for the contrib name or the authors name, youll see what I mean. Ive been scared to implement it myself, as the circumstances are a little shady.
