Huge PayPal Issue. Please Help

Recommended Posts

I use paypal to process my payments. I have a sales tax for users in my province. The osc system calculates the tax fine , the shipping fine and the total file but when it goes to paypal to process it only shows total and shipping. It doesn't add on the tax. Anyway to fix?

Use the IPN.

NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit.

If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help.

Will the IPN allow individual items purchased to be identified on the Paypal side?

No, but to my knowledge, no getway will.

You could use the 'option_name' fields if you required but this is limited to only 2 at the moment most people use an this value to describe the whole purchase,

<input type="hidden" name="os0" value="ORDER NAME">

<input type="hidden" name="on0" value="Special ORDER PROMOTION">

If you include the above in your Paypal pament buttons this is displayed to your customers below the item_name.

You also have the use of the item number and custom fields

plus if you are using osC you have all the facilites to track the individual products via the admin.

See:

IPN is a powerful resource and it's being developed like osC all the time
