Today did a fresh install of osCommerce on the company i work for's new website.

Its going ok,but there seems to be 3 problems, all related to the shopping cart.

I want to just use paypal as the payment method for now,so i activated that module.

The problems are as follows:

  1. At any point during checkout,if you press 'continue shopping' you get an error about files not being found.
  2. The paypal 'checkout with paypal' button does nothing'.
  3. Its impossible to complete the checkout process-you get as far as 'payment information' then you get bounced back to the shopping cart contents.

the website in question is http://www.dakltd.co.uk/catalog

If anyone could be of help i would be very gratefull.i did do a forum search first but it seems im not the only one having this problem.

Im not sure if the issue is related to files names and localisation-it seems the website will sometimes be looking for a file like express.php when the only file there is express_uk.php ( a rough example) i solved that problem by making a copy of the original file and renaming it accordingly, before i did this clicking on the checkout option simply brought up a file not found error.

Have you

1) Set up your payment modules under admin / modules / payment

2) added the correct details to the paypal direct?

ok i tried removing the paypal express module, and when its removed the shopping cart will go through the relevant stages correctly, but of course there is no way for me to take payment.

I then added the paypal express module again and the same problem reappeared as described in my first post.

Does anyone have any idea what would cause this issue?

One way to troubleshoot paypal issues is to switch to sandbox/test mode.

Click >>here for the guide.

You may also want to try Paypal IPN(search the contribution section) or PayPal Website Payments Standard.

i activated sandbox mode it does nothing, the problem is its not even getting to the payment confirmation stage,it just loops back to the cart contents.

ok the only thing i can think of now is either there is a problem with one of the files or its down to the /usr/bin/curl value-i know this value is not applicable when running on a windows server, which i am.

Does this value need to be set to the correct path in windows?i've tried asking my service provider and he did'nt give me a straight answer when i asked him the location,he just said i don't need it.

If this value is incorrect would it be producing the problems i am experiancing?
