rboutin
I'll apologize up front for being completely new and for this potentially being already addressed (but I couldn't find it in the forum). I just installed osCommerce 2.2RC2a and, miracle of miracles, it actually has not gone too badly for me. My problem is, when I go through my browser to the /catalog/ address, I get the directory, not anything that looks like a storefront. I can click on things like products_new.php and they work fine. It seems like when I go to /catalog/, it wants to see an index.php file, but I don't have one. Am I completely ignorant (please don't answer that)? What am I missing here? I'm a mechanical engineer, not an IT guy, so a response in short words and plain English would be appreciated.
multimixer
Do you have an index.php file uploaded? My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel
rboutin
There were about a half dozen index.php files of different types when I upzipped the file. I tried each but none seem to be the correct one. Do you have an index.php file uploaded?
Guest
Robert, There should only be ONE index.php filel in the catalog directory. This is the 'start up' file used by OSC to initialize your site. If you are not sure if it is the right file or you are missing the file, simply upload it again from the OSC zip file you have. Chris
