sub-category pictures

Is there any way to remove the picture box from above the sub-category items when there is no picture

 

I have tried a 1pix.gif but the spacing is too large

 

Also on some products I do need subcategory pictures

1 pic gif has always worked for me, but you could also add a blank pic the same colour as the background thats the same size. i would say what the size is but have replaced mine with 1's already. To find the size download an example one and hover over it, or click once on it. The dimensions will then be on the left hand side of your screen in windows. hope this helps
