loboski Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 I am new to OScommerce and I am setting up a website. At the moment it is working fine with the flat rate shipping cost. However i acnnot make sense of the table rate, which is what i really want to use. i have read and I think understood the ratios. It seems to work fine when only one item is purchased but as soon as it is more than one item I cannot figure it out. I tried with the three ratios set i.e. 25:5.00, 50:10.00, 1000:5.00 As I couldn't understand it I then tried with just two parameters, 25:5.00 50:10.00. To me this should be that if the total weight is up to 25 kilos th cost will be 5.00 and if the weight is between 25 and 50 ( 50 being the maximum we would get) the cost would be 5.00 plus the additional 10.00. I set up two items weighing 20 and 27 kilos. When i opted for item one ( 20 kilos) it charged me 5.00, when I opted for item 2 on it's own (27 kilos) it charged me 10.00 but when i opted for both items ( weighing 47 together) it charged me 20.00????!!!! Any ideas or explanations would be greatly recieved at this point. Many thanks!!

XLRVIII Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Shipping/Packaging Package Tare weight. 3 if I understand it correctly this value means your telling the software that your package minus the product weighs 3 lbs. thus increasing the shipping weight/cost by 3lbs. hope this helps. I too am having problems with the table rate and stumbled across your post in a search.
SirYarquest Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I'm having the same issue...I think. Basically if a customer buys more than one, the shipping cost does not increase. This is very bad. I have been sending the customer an email explaining there's an issue with the software and that I need more money. It doesn't set well with the customer, but they usually pay. If anyone here can help us, we would appreciate it. www.ishopinseconds.com Tony
burt Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 You need to use a different shipping module or set the shipping module you already using, correctly Either way, it's something for you to work out and make happen as no-one can help with this unless you give them access to your shop and ftp.
