kuai
Hey everyone, I understand osC cannot be sold "plain vanilla", and it shouldn't. I'm guessing this is referring to a plain install. What about modifying the store's width and center, product and security addons, changing color or adding a background, changing titles, etc. Would these modifications still qualify the store as "plain vanilla". Or, could an individual provide a "service" for such actions as modifying the store to a customers liking. If there's documentation relating to this, please post a link. I'm just curious because alot of people have problems just installing and/or where to go and/or what to do afterwards. Thanks, Kuai

ATT: It will still be GNU and you can not remove copyright from inside the files and you have to leave the osCommerce copyrights text in the admin section of the website. hey toyicebear, I assume this is what you are referring to? http://www.oscommerce.com/about/copyright " The osCommerce copyright announcement displayed on the Administration Tool of osCommerce Online Merchant complies with section 2c of the GNU General Public License (GPL) and thus can not be removed, or may only be appropriately modified with addtional copyright notices. It is not the intention of the osCommerce Online Merchant Administration Tool copyright announcement to claim rights or contest your rights to work written entirely by you; rather, the intent is to exercise the right to control the distribution of derivative or collective works based on osCommerce Online Merchant. It is entirely within your right however to add to the copyright notice to claim rights on the changes you have made. The osCommerce copyright announcement displayed on the Catalog side of osCommerce Online Merchant can, however, be modified, and even be removed. Please note that the osCommerce Online Merchant Administration Tool copyright announcement must still exist regardless if the default osCommerce-copyrighted Administration Tool theme has been modified. The separate text "Powered by osCommerce", or similar text, displayed on both Administration Tool and Catalog modules is optional to have displayed."
