Create an Auto installtion of OSC with set products

Hi,

 

I would like to know if its possible to have a script that auto installs osc commerce and a given set of products.

 

I am guessing this is possible as the default version you dowload or install via fantastico installs with a few products including images etc and the rest you define or add yourself.

 

I would like to be able to create a website for selling say, teddie bears, but may want to set them up for more than one customer, and then install another group say for dolls for another customer.

 

The only difference in the installation would be the products database entries and the images involved.

 

so the installer script would say use database file 1 and images 1, and database file 2 and images 2.

 

These images and databases would upload to the cusomers site automatically dpening on what product site they have selected.

 

Would love to here from anybody that can help me with this one.

You can save the database and install it as you would normally with a standard install.

Save the database as oscommerce.sql in the install folder

Nic is correct and don't forget to place the site images in the images folder as well.

thanks for the information, however I would have more than one oscommerce.sql file if you like one for each group of products.

 

so I need to be able to call the different groups during the installion automatically.

 

Looking at the installation files I would need to modify rpc.php so that if I selected to install products1 it would import the correct database settings.

 

Then once installed to remove the installation folder?
