I just checked out my site in IE as I usually use Firefox.... there are some weird tab marks or table marks... not sure what to call them, but I see it between spaces in the table design... any ideas? It only appears in IE not in firefox... and everything else is the same...hmm...

site is rhythmhousedrumsDOTcom

This is typical as firefox and IE interpret HTML slightly differently. It's impossible to get them to look identical. You just need to check the site in both and make sure you're comfortable with the results on each platform. You might also want to download a copy of Opera and check that too. I found something odd in opera that didn't appear in IE or Firefox. I was able to fix it without breaking anything in the other 2, but it does happen.

Good luck,

Adrienne

Thanks for the replies.... does anyone have any idea as to what would cause this? What code should I play with in order to get the little tab marks out of the IE browser.... it's not too bad, But I'd prefer it not be there.

I realize that the site may be a bit different in different browsers... but It seems like this is more of the product of faulty code or at least something I can change to make them not show up in IE.

Viewing with ie7 I don`t see much variation.

To minimise variations change your doctype to XHTML 1 transitional

Thanks, I actually came on here to update some info... It looks fine in IE7 ... But I have IE8 on my work computer, and those marks are there in IE8.

Anyone know of differences in IE7 and IE8 that would make that happen? I'll try the doctype and see if that helps.
