roback Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 I have recently upgraded from regular http to SSL with https. however now I cannot find where to change the setting in OSC to register https, and not revert to http. How can I do this? (PS Sorry if this is in the forum elsewhere. It would not let me search) thanks

zefeena Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 I recently 'bought' an SSL cert thru 123-reg, and cannot figure out what to do with it now. I did follow a few instuctions, but then it said i had to reboot the server....erm...i don't think so! i have no idea what to do.! Running a botched up version of osCommerce Online Merchant v2.3.4 bootstrap with the dresscode theme installed, numerous add-ons, terrible coding, terrible website, but will have to make do until I have made up for my losses and can risk shutting down for a couple of weeks while I start all over again. - I did not install my program but am endeavouring to fix it with your help.

It will switch to https when in my account or when checking out automatically? This toggling does not effect the sessions, cart data or anything else does it? Thanks

Thanks there should not be a security threat because there is no sensitive information sent on the non https pages. it shouldn't lose the sessions or cart data as long as the configure.php file is correct. just test it on your site, if you try to checkout and it still has your cart data then your site is fine.
