Guest Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Hi all, iam new to oscommerce. in our ogranization we have choosen oscommerce to develop a webproject which is online shopping. but before starting actual development i have some quries which are very important. if oscommerce doesnot support these features then we may have to choose some other technology. before proceeding plesae clarify me as i cant find much info on google i am putting these questions in forums. Q1) how many peak users/concurrent users oscommerce supports?? Q2) what is the best deployment environment for oscommerce?? Q3) is clusturing supported by oscommerce?? Q4) can i use WAMP for deployment and work with oscommerce ?? any issues with it?? if any body knows answers or ideas please post . Thanks in advance.....

linuxadmin Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 it is not limited with oscommerce. oscommerce can handle unlimited load, it all depends on your server specifications. how much processing speed and memory Oscommerce can handle any number of customers and traffic main issue is what servers you are using Are you using cheap webhosting or quality ones are you using load balancing servers ? i have worked with stores having 500,000 customers and having 50,000 products runs on 3 load balancing web servers and 2 database servers. works like a charm. if you are expecting less than 5000 customers and have 2 to 5,000 products then a simple dedicated server will do. cheers
