Shipping Module.. do you have it as whole numbers or decimels?

The reason I ask is that when I set up my store I set up the weights as whole numbers.

Eg something is 210g I put 210.

But I have some items that are 1.6kg (1600g) but I cant put that in as it defaults to 999.99

So I thought I would change both the shipping module and the items weights to decimels that way my 1.6kg items can be listed as 1.6 and my 200g items are 0.2

So an item that is 210g is now 0.21

And shipping module is 0.5:5.60

(so items up to 500g pay $5.60 postage)

But now my shipping modules arent working. Its coming up completely wrong!

Any ideas?

And would the wrong amount be because you have your tare weight set at the default value of 3?
