How to set entire category on "Special"

Hey all,

 

I need to put every item in a category on special.

 

The special system lets me choose a specific item, choose either a new price or a % discount, and choose and expiration date. But when I have 3 pages of products to put on special, this eats up alot of my time.

 

I've found a couple mods that claim to add the ability to the special admin, but they don't look well supported, and some folks have left unanswered cries for help after using them. >.<

 

So can anyone recommend a mod that lets me apply a sale to a "group" or "category" of items all at once?

 

OR

 

I wouldn't mind hearing success stories from folks who have used mods that take over the whole "Specials" feature all together, adding coupon codes, etc.

Quick question... the description says "The SaleMaker contribution provides store-owners with the necessary tools for defining, managing and exploiting StoreSales".

 

Is "StoreSales" another mod I need installed to make this work? Or do I just need SaleMaker?
