Adding photo gallery to a catagory

Few of my categories have a sub categories. Only the sub categories contains products while the main category is empty.

 

How can i add a photo galley to the main catagory with links to each sub category?

I am having same problem, is there a easy solution? This is a temp setup on my test server.

By default the images of the subcategories are displayed on the top of the page. Did you add images to the subcategories?
