klmnt Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 "Dynamic product attributes relationship" is listed as a feature of osCommerce 2.2 -->HERE. I've installed the RC2 but... see nothing that will allow me to setup anything like that. Only simple drop down attributes. Neither can I find any extension with that name or functionality...!?! Can someone knowledgeable elaborate on that and point me in the right direction...? ...Shall I mention that dynamic product price update solution would be appreciated too?
Gauravs Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Hi Koko, I am not sure what you expect from dynamic attributes, however READ THIS to learn more about product attributes features. HTH Best Regards,Gaurav
klmnt Posted June 12, 2009 Author Posted June 12, 2009 Dynamic product attributes relationship means that when you have 2 or more attributes their prices(price modifiers) depend on each other. As a reference let's say I have a jewelery store and sell rings made of gold, silver and nickel in 5 sizes. So, I would need 2 optional elements(attributes) "Material" and "Size" for each product. Here comes the need for "Dynamic product attributes relationship"... i.e when the customer selects Gold in the first attribute the second attribute should display prices for all ring sizes as made of gold... However if silver or nickel is selected as the option in the first attribute the second attribute shall adjust the prices for each size accordingly depending on the metal chosen. With few words the pricing of the options in one attribute depends on the selection in the other. Hope this clarifies the issue. So if someone knows how to achieve this in OC please give me a hint... As of late, 80% of requests for online stores are for customizable products stores. However, customizable products are dependable on dynamic attribute relationship. The other option is to create product for each attribute combination... but... who creates stores like that anymore...? and who would shop there, too ?!?
