VERY VERY strange SEO url problem

Hi I have installed and have running osc v2 on my server and have it live on the web.

 

It is in example www.mydomain.com/osctrial so when i go here i get my shop page as you would do normally.

 

Here is the problem with SEO URLS enabled when you go to this site and click on any of the products it shows the path to be www.mydomain.com/osctrial/product etc etc. However it goes to www.mydomain.com/osctrial/product etc etc and the page displays on here but now the site looks like identical to my live site that i have up and running and trading at www.mydomain.com

 

However when you mouse over the images on the site to go to a product you now get the address www.mydomain.com/product etc etc as if it has now switched to my live site.

 

Please can someone tell me why when I have never made any reference to the root folder in any part of the set up does it direct to a file that in theory www.mydomain.com/osctrial should have no knowledge exists and why when it does get to a product page in www.mydomian.com/osctrial/product etc etc does it then bring up my live appearance but when you go back to the index page it returns back to v2 shop basically identical to the demo site on here.

 

I hope that this makes sense as I am fairly new to this but am trying to get an understanding rather than just paying for someone else to do it.
