Catalog suddenly not working

Recommended Posts

Hopefully someone can figure out what happened. I went in to edit an existing product in the Catalog and as soon as I hit 'Preview' - all information: price, description, photo, etc disappeared. I then tried to re-add the product, and nothing would take. If I make any revisions to any existing - it's gone. I have made no changes to any settings. Have no idea what happened. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I might look? Thanks

Did you check the database if the products are really gone?

1st - was wrong - the photo does not disappear, just everything else (item #, price, description). And when I preview (shows nothing except photo) then update - it immediately goes to 'out of stock' even though I selected 'in stock'. When I turn it back on from the 'Catagory/Products administration page - then go to the website - the photo shows, and nothing else. I have re-booted my computer, thinking there was just a temp glitch - since it worked fine the last time I edited or added a product.

try clearing your cache and cookies and start from scratch. this has happened to me a few times.

if something small happens, like a refresh, the preview page returns blank and i have to just add it again. could just be something simple as that.

when im adding products i use 10-20 tabs to make it faster, which causes hangups sometimes, no big deal.

Thanks for the suggestions - BUT, I actually figured out what happened, and am posting just in case someone else would happen to run across this. I recently placed a 301 redirect (htaccess file) for the non-www site to redirect to the www site (canonical thing). Well I guess I still had non-www links on the site - probably in the Config file. So all I had to do was to find/replace all the //vanessexpressions to //www.vanessexpressions and presto - I can add and edit the catalog.

Thanks to both who responded.
