Delete product when purchased

Hi all,

 

I would like to be able to change OSCommerce so that when a product is purchased it is deleted rather than being set to a stock of zero but kept on the system.

 

I have been able to change the product so that when its purchased and there are none in stock it displays "out of stock" and does not allow the product to be puchased. This was achieved by using a contribution.

 

However, it would be great if when a product is purchased it could either be removed from the catalog so customers were not able to view it or totally deleted. Total deletion upon purchase would be preferred.

 

Has anybody been able to acheive this as it seems like a standard requirement of any ecommerce system and i am surprised that it is not a standard feature of OSCommerce.

 

I am using OSCommerce 2.2 - MS2

There is a status flag for the products in admin. When it's set to inactive, the products will show up no more at the customers side. You can set this flag during checkout process rather than deleting.

 

I don't think it's a standard requirement, since usually when a stock level of 0 is reached, the common merchand has already reordered the items. If they would be deleted automatically, he would have to add the product again....
