Just getting Started

So, I installed osCommerce(v2.2 RC2, Hosting with Inmotion) just yesterday, and I was hoping to get some questions answered,

How can I have the top part of oscommerce ( the my account, checkout, cart and whatnot) through my website, like every page has that as an include statement because my site will have extra information and stuff, ie. not just the catalog and I want visitors to always be able to access that.

If i'm going through a payment gateway such as Authorize.net, do i need an ssl certificate and as far as modules to install, what is the difference between the Authorize.net credit card AIM and SIM modules?

I'm sure there's more to ask i just can't remember everything right now so chances are that i'll be back for more

Also, this might be easier if there's a general beginners section that explains how to do a lot of different stuff that would probably be better for me
