LotsofBargains4U Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Currently, my website designer has installed my SSL Certificate, yet they installed it to all of the pages. When I search the Catalog pages I get a pop up message stating that there are Secure and Non Secure Items on the Page and asking if I would like to view the Non Secure items. This is a REAL turn off for customers. When I ask the tech support about this issue, they tell me that it is my browser and that I should change my browser settings. I understand that this will eliminate me seeing this message, HOWEVER, it won't eliminate the message popping up for everyone else that views my site. When asking them if the catalog pages can be changed from https:// to http://, they tell me that it cannot be done. I know that the reason that I am getting this message is because the downloaded images are Non Secure items that are posted to a Secure site. Am I incorrect? Should my whole website should be under https://? I have notified my supplier and they do not offer a https:// link to update my inventory. I know that there is a way to change this... can you please assist me? www.LotsofBargains4U.com

In your config file you will find HTTP_ and HTTPS_ settings. Change accordingly. Only the checkout pages where you capture sensitive information should be on ssl. If you really can't change to http: then why not download all the product images to your own server and link to them from your own url - this way everything will go over ssl and there will be no warnings. Cheers, Adam.
LotsofBargains4U Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 Thanks Adam for the info. I will see what I can do.
