[email protected] Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Hello, I am new to OScommerce but i have been trying to figure out where addons live in site folder generally? i have a few addons i want to install which give detailed instructions on the files to copy etc but don't say where to copy them to! i have looked in the forum and all over the net for a few hours now an answer but have found nothing so i'm tearing my hair out! I'm used to using Joomla! & wordpress and there is is a particular place in those programs to put modules etc. any pointers would be really really appreciated, many thanks! :-) justine
swguy Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I am new to OScommerce but i have been trying to figure out where addons live in site folder generally? The structure of an addon will parallel the structure of your cart. So if the addon has the file includes/footer.php Then you would put this file in your cart location in includes/footer.php (overwriting the existing file, but making a backup first). (Sometimes the addons will start at the catalog level, i.e. catalog/includes/footer.php; same idea; just put in parallel directory in your cart.) [email protected] Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 thanks for that advice i have done that and it works :D  - but what happens then if i place a file from one addon in th sameplace as another addon with the same filename? surely then it would not work? thanks again
swguy Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 In that case, you would need to merge the changes from addon1 to the changes in addon2. Contributions: Better Together and Quantity Discounts for osCommerce 2.3.x and Phoenix. See my profile for more details.
