Gubbanoa Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Hi, Would it be possible to change the original 'add to cart' button with a PayPal 'add to cart' button? I have tried IPN, but then customers would have to register. I was hoping there was a file with the buy button were I could insert my PayPal button code. I don't have SSL at the time and don't want customers to register, log in or have a cart on a non-secure server.
Guest Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 install purchase without account (PWA) contrib. as for the paypal button, you have to manually hard coding the product list, info, specials, feature pages for that purpose.

If you are going to run a business online, the least you could do is secure parts of your site with a host provided free SSL. If you install the PWA contribution, that will solve your problem of customers not needing to register with you. I would still recommend the PayPal IPN v2.3.3 contribution as the link between your site and PayPal. This might be of some help - http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?s=&...t&p=1406484 - :: Jim :: - - My Toolbox ~ Adobe Web Bundle, XAMPP & WinMerge | Install ~ osC v2.3.3.4 -
Gubbanoa Posted June 2, 2009 Author Posted June 2, 2009 Thanks, guys! I guess I'm going to use PWA and IPN then. Sounds good. (My host runs PHP5 on the http server and PHP4 on https - it's affecting my template too much. That's why I don't have SSL installed right now.)
Gubbanoa Posted June 2, 2009 Author Posted June 2, 2009 I have some trouble installing the PWA contribution. On most files it tries to edit I'm getting: Cannot replace:[some code] with: [more code] Clik the "Edit Manually" button to edit the file manually It seems to edit some of the code, but not all. It's probably because the code isn't there. I've checked. I'm using a template from templatemonster - is that a commen cause of problems when installing contributions? Any known way to fix this? The PWA install script doesn't say which line it would like to place the code on - if I knew that maybe I could do it myself (with some luck..).

Install PWA manually and you will be fine, Purchase Without Account v2.1 - FullPackage its not hard or takes to long to install manually
