Hi everyone. I'm having the same problem as Sharif (post 8.4.09) and I noticed no-one has replied to this problem. Unfortunately I have products of all different shapes and sizes and I can't uniformly set the thumbnail size for my images because there are a lot of them that look aweful (too long, too wide). Is there any contribution that allows me to set individual thumbnail sizes or one which will produce a thumbnail that keeps the aspect ratio of the original? What about contribution 2226 (thumbnails "on the fly") - will this work please? Not sure exactly what this is ! Am using Vs 2.2.

Try setting either the Small Image Width or Small Image Height to blank (empty not 0) in admin->Comfiguration->Images. The on the fly contribution will also work but you may have difficulty finding a good size to use for the image.

Thanks Jack. That works. However (and I've noticed a lot of others with this prob) my small images are very poor quality. Since my site is very image orientated and the products are very detailed, do you know of any way to improve quality? Someone wrote that they had seen where you can keeps all your thumbs in a seperate folder and use these but still call up the big images? This would be fabulous because I already have loads of good quality thumbnails that I created from my original photos. I've used these on my old website so I'm pretty disappointed with the quality of the thumbs that osc produces. Any advice?

The On-the-fly thumbnail contribution will improve the appearance. However, it requires both settings to be set so some images may not look properly if there is a big discrepancy in dimensions.
