Adding modules, do they automatically show up?

I want to create a module under admin>customers>_________. total sales or something.

 

And call it total sales or something. Basically brings up a screen with ALL orders one one LONG page (one order per line), so that we don't have to individually click on EVERY order to see the details.

 

Bascialy would output something like this:

 

Order number Address Shipped to Product

123123 232 Park lane, etc Teeshirt

 

 

Or something like that. Can I create my own .php file with a querry to the db (which I know how to do)...and then just drop it in the admin>includes?customers folder?

 

Will it automatically show up in the admin area, or does something need to be added there?

Also on another note, is there anyway to add all of you sales together and show the total?
