How to add something in top

Hey

1. I've subcategories in my site (Like Movies, Games and etc.) i need to add a note to top of particular of them, How can i do that?

2. I've an script that can search IMDB database and shows movie information in addition to a link refers to that movie in IMDB.

How can i add this in top of "Movies" subcategory so users can search for it before buying?

There are several ways of doing this and it would depend upon your PHP skills as which is best for you. Your easiest option might be to install the HTC SEO contribution as it will allow you to add category descriptions & titles (that are displayed on that specific categories page), as well as give your shop the necessary search engine tags that it needs.

I took a look @ this http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2796 (i think this is what u call HTC SEO) but the last post recommends NOT to use this, Any way as far i realized it's "friendly url" addon, how can it be good for adding description to categories!!?

After ~30 min of editing many files, i got an error Parse error: parse error.............. (This contribution is good, but 4 me it was wasting time) i'm looking for much easier way

The author of that contribution provides top notch support. Have you tried asking for support in that contriubtion's thread in this forum?

 

Also, you may benefit from using a file comparison tool such as Beyond Compare or WinMerge to help you with making the file edits. It will make life a lot easier for you. ;)
