I'm no authority on the subject, but as I understand it if your site handles CC info you MUST be PCI Compliant

 

The fact that you have an offline terminal is irrelevant.

 

Unless you have deep pockets that can afford hefty fines it would be worth checking out.

In that case how would you go about processing CC's offline if you are not allowed to store info. Also, some business keep customers info in programs such as quick books. Is that PCI compliant?

All I know is if you run afoul of the rules and they catch you your a$$ will be "in the sling"...

If you have a merchant account and a terminal, read your agreement (with the bank) very carefully. In most cases, they will not allow you piggyback web orders onto your other (in-store) CC processing. This is in addition to any concerns about customer CC information security.
