ULTIMATE Seo Urls 5 - by FWR Media

Recommended Posts

you mean my question is regarding to USU5 ?and where can I get this information ?

nevermind my above post. Anyway,,does USU5 can be set as for category structure or if there's manual tweaks to do that?so the URL will be :

category1/subcategory1/product_name.html

i saw in your other thread post that the reason why you didn't add this kind of method is that this kinda method is effectively a lie. However i really need this directory/category structure..If you could tell how to manually tweaks this.

thanks

I wrote independent seo url validation for version 2 and it is not needed in USU5 as the functionality is incorporated.

thanks robert! that would mean some work taking out them two contribs first. but less bloat is always good!

__FILE__ returns the path of the file where the code containing __FILE__ exists so no this would be useless.

the USU5 tep_href_link function (replacement) would need to be coded to recognise if and when it needed to append the relevant paths.

I don't mind answering questions like this but please don't fill up support with further references to personal needs.

Hey Robert!

Thanks for your answer, I´m sorry for using the support thread for my personal needs. My bad...

Anyway, I decided to remake my website structure and put everything at root level including shop and article files.

As a result USU5 is working perfectly! :D

I just wanted to thank you for your amazing contribution. Can´t wait to install a few of your other creations.

Regards

Magnus J

Hello,

i think it is a BUG in SEO-URL-5. I can change the Categorie Adress on every Website with SEO-URL-5!!!

I show 2 Categorie IDs and write xx_0_xx ( xx = Cat-IDs ) in the Adressbar and we have the same Problem. SEO write the Adress in the Cache :-(

No Toyicebear .. that is not an appropriate suggestion/link to place in the support thread for USU5!

so i guess the best thing is not to install any of them then?

because no one seems to give a straight answer around here.

the ultimate seo urls 2 versions have been whored and raped to death by people it seems, and according to one person it states "use version 2.1 original".

yet there is now this version 5 which I assume is the best version. But so many people seem to get errors, and I don't want to fuck up this shop with some code thats going to kill it!

someone please advise

if you are on windows hostin you wont be able to use rewrite and some hosts will not allow you to use it.

If nothing happens if you click buy now from index that is most likely a problem in the index page, not the seo urls.

Hi,

I'm trying to install USU5 on my test server (linux, php5+), but I'm not able to complete the install. I've downloaded the full package (revision 84) from http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/6768.

1.) I've uploaded the files in the uploads folder.

2.) I've modified the specific files as described in install_modify_files.

3.) I've run the installer.php script and it shows me:

* All configuration values look good.
* Configuration Group auto increment to start at 6125
* Tables look good to insert.
* No tables to alter it seems.
* No fields to insert it seems.
* No fields to alter it seems.

No errors - we are in a position to continue the install.

But when I click the "Install database settings" nothing happens?!

- No error messages

- I did restart my browser

- I can see that urls are running in Standard Seo Urls mode, but I need traditional mode

- Also I cannot see any Seo Urls 5 section in my admin pannel?

- I can see that my database has not been changed

Please advice as I'm so close! (I think  )

Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.

Hi

In the instructions it states .. close ALL browser windows then browse directly to the installer file .. if you do this it will install.

The product isn't adding to cart because something in the code is removing the "index.php"

e.g. http://warung.exalumni.com/mainan-c-35?cPa...;products_id=70

Should be ..

http://warung.exalumni.com/index.php/mainan-c-35?cPath=35&action=buy_now&products_id=70

and why i cant use rewrite system , they always appear "not url"

Sorry I don't understand the following: -

they always appear "not url"

Very odd comment with nice language.

USU5 works well, if there are any issues and I can replicate them then I will fix them.

If you don't want to #!#!# up your shop then do what I would always recommend anyway when modding a live site and run the modifications on on a dev site first.

Nope, I did close all my browsers, but it will not install. Are the SQL scripts available to install manually?

Hi,

I'm trying to install your ULTIMATE Seo Urls5, but I'm not able to complete the install. <_<

I ‘ve uploaded the files in the uploads folder.

I ‘ve done what is written in install_modify_files.html and changed attributes of directory

catalog/includes/modules/ultimate_seo_urls5/cache

to writeable.

Now when I try to visit my site I get

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}'
in/public_html/sklep/includes/modules/ultimate_seo_urls5/classes/usu.php on line 24

Can you help me?

You have to be running PHP5.2+ to run USU5, which version are you on?

No there is no manual install and you are the very first person, ever, to have this problem so if you can't give me a situation that I can replicate then I can't help.

In all other instances closing every browser that is open then browsing directly to the installer file works.

eh, I have PHP 4.4.4-8+etch6. <_< <_<

so which version of ULTIMATE Seo Urls would be best for me?

Well tbh noone should be on PHP4 now .. it is ancient history, discontinued, unsupported and receives no security or other bug fixes.

PHP5.2 has been available since way back in 2006.

Having said that if you really need to stay on PHP4 then use the old ultimate seo urls version 2.

Hi Robert,

thank you for rewriting this great contribution. It works as expected, however I have a slight problem since I've removed index.php according to this post.

But now clicking on the home link or store logo takes me to www.mystore.co.uk//

I didn't have the trailing / before upgrading. It is hardcoded in filenames - define('FILENAME_HOME', '/');

Since I do not want to have index.php for SEO reasons, I would like to ask you - what could be done to make it work with USU5? Or, even better, I can simply revert those changes if you have better, more elegant and efficient way of doing it ;)

All help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Alex

Hi Alex

I'll put more thought into it if the following "daft fix" doesn't work ( had a few wines now ).

Have you tried ..

define('FILENAME_HOME', '');

Yes the '' is empty.

Well give it a go anyway and if it doesn't work I'll look at it more when my brain is less "polluted" :)
