Canada Post Shipping Module [product dimension information]

Hi,

I'm running osCommerce v2.2 MS2 and have previously run a script on my database from the MVS module. This script created the following entries in my products table: products_length, product_width, and product_height (amongst others). Note that my installation of the MVS module has failed, for some unknown reason, and the effects of this script were not reverted.

Does the Canada Post shipping module source its product dimensions from those three fields in the products table? The reason I ask is that I have changed those dimensions (in phpmyadmin) and they do not affect the quoted shipping price. In which field and table would the sourced dimensions then come from?

Also, I cannot change these dimensions in Admin because there is no field pointing to them, so I have to manually go into phpmyadmin. Is there a required package I should have installed first? I've seen references to the required CVS package but didn't find it after a search through the contributions.

-Everything else works fine, but I cannot guarantee the accuracy of the quote price because I'm not sure which dimensions are fed to SellOnline.

cheers,

Stampeder

To follow up on the above, I have called the SellOnline support and they have confirmed that the dimensions being sent to my account were all null. So I definitely have a dimension related issue.

Anyone know where this module feeds its dimensions from?

OK. I got it.

I was using Canada Post Shipping Module v2.0 and it was a known limitation that the dimensions would not be used. It didn't say explicitly in the read_me but I found a mention of this limitation in a previous release and it was the same code being rolled forward.

I am now using the Canada Post Shipping Module v4.1 which is packaged with the Automatic Label and I only installed the shipping module. The installation was a bit tougher but I managed. Also, I looked at the SQL script for my first install of MVS and manually enterred the SQL commands to cancel that script.

So that gives me a clean database and a fully working weight and dimension Canada Post Shipping Module.

Remember to back up both php files and database before attempting tweeks!

cheers,
