KeithX Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I bought a godaddy hosting for my online shop. (it was too late though, they s*ck big time). So i bought one instead at hostgator. Weird thing about this is i'm getting the same errors! Both my godaddy hosting and hostgator would let me install an oscommerce shop. When i delete the test installation and proceed to the real thing, it doesn't work anymore. Here's what the install page looks like When i try and input the database details, it would proceed but it doesn't write the database tables. I badly need help on this. :(
Jack_mcs Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 You have to create the database first. Have you done that? KeithX Posted May 19, 2009 Author Posted May 19, 2009 yes i did. I think something's wrong with that page. The page i saw that when i had a successful install was styled.
Jack_mcs Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 This is where having a good host is important since they would assist with this. But to get around whatever problem you are having, you can use the option to install oscommerce from the hosts control panel and then overwrite the files with the latest ones from here, if they are not installed already. Just be sure not to overwrite the configure files. Anyway, i figured out what's wrong. Simple slash (/) at the end of the install address totally messed up everything. LOL. One of the godaddy staffs told me there's something wrong with my database.php. Aww
