Hi, This is my first post and this is all new to me, iv'e had a site for some time now and not been involved with the building of it.

I have just recently moved hosting company's and this is the error 1054 - Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause

i have been left with my new host did the free transfer of site from my old host and told me i will have to sort the problem out myself!

Ok i think i should able to do this have read the already posted topics on this error on this forum, but here's where i now show how green iam.. on cpanel with my new host i click on file manager and then i can find the index.php file i can veiw it but when i click on html editor nothing happens it's not highlighted when index.php is selected, is this something to do with permissions if so how do i change them to then edit??

Thankyou

John

Hi John, in order for you to fix the problem you're going to need FTP access to your hosting. They should of provided FTP login details when you signed up and you can then enter these into a FTP program like FileZilla to access the files.

Once you have access then we can try to find the cause of the problem.

All the best.

Hi, you should be able to manage FTP accounts in cPanel for the domain. Once you have a FTP account set up then you can use FileZilla to access your files.

Install FileZilla and enter your domain, FTP username and password and connect to your hosting. Then you shuold be able to locate your index.php file and download it. Once downloaded you will be able to open it in a text editor to look at the code.

Have you entered the host as the domain name (or ip address) the same as when you browse your site? What I mean is if your site is www.mysite.com then have you entered 'www.mysite.com' as the host?

Ok, What i have now done is i was trying to connect to my new host and without success, i have now tried with my old host and now i have connected, my site is still live with the old host because of the trouble ive had with the new i havent yet pointed the name servers to the new host as yet,

Would i be able to take a copy of index.php from my site on the old server modifie it then send it back to my new one when i can figure out why i cannot connect?

Sounds OK as long as you've not modified the new copy, which by the sounds of things you've not be able to do. Plus before overwriting the new copy you'll want to make a backup (again once you can connect!) just in case.

Your new host is probably running MySQL 5, which is not quite compatible with osC (written for MySQL 4). Take a look here:
