how do i log into admin section

hello all,

 

i am completely new to the php world and ofcourse to the amazingly oscommerce solution...

 

i have managed to setup the site locally and all i am trying now is to logon to the admin section as administrator..

 

its proving to be difficult for me to trace the code but i assume the admin details are stored and pulled from administrator table

 

i have tried to add the following test user but did not work.

 

username: test

password: 123456

 

please can someone advise as to what is the default admin password or is there some way to add a test admin user?

You should have set this when you installed the cart Sam.

On the last screen it asked you to set it, there is no default password.

If you are using version 2.2 RC2A then you can use my contribution to reset the password.

Click on the "my Add ons" link under my name and then download the reset Admin Password file.

I am using osCommerce Online Merchant v3.0 Alpha 5 if that is completely different to ver 2.* ?

 

I dont remember whether it has asked for the admin password whilst setting up.

 

I cant find any add-ons to install from anywhere. Please can you advise?

 

I am getting the following error if this helps

 

Error: Identification of the store administrator failed. Please try again if you have been authorized to use this system.

PS: 2.2 RC2A - Is this the recommended version to use ?

my addon will not work in version 3, you can empty the table by lo0gging in to your control panel and then phpmyadmin, find the administrators table and empty it.

I have tried deleting the record from the Administrator table and also tried adding a test record but none of the steps seems to have worked.
