besheer Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 ...and I mean NEWBIE! I have done several searches with many keywords, but have not been able to get all the information I need. I just signed up for a merchant account and A.net gateway. I am stuck and don't know where to go from there. I figured that I need a SSL cert because when I enable the A.net module from the admin panel, I get the credit card input field on the non-secure checkout screen. Am I right, that I will have to get a SSL cert? Drive it like you stole it.
wizardsandwars Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 You don't have to have SSL to use Authorize.net. You can use theirs, and your customers would have to go the your Authorize.net checkout page on the Authorize.net website. However, the Authorize.net payment module in OSC is currently not set up to do this. I would highly recommend getting an SSL first. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help.
besheer Posted February 7, 2003 Author Posted February 7, 2003 But the module isn't working and I have to use the ADC module anyway, right? I am in the process of getting the SSL cert right now. Drive it like you stole it.
wizardsandwars Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 Well, I have an older snapshot, August 28, 2002. The Authorize.net module that cam with that snapshot doesn't work anymore, and yes you will have to install the ADC contribution. his contribution was fairly simple to install, and it now works great on my shop. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit.
