osCommerce

The e-commerce.

Hi all, I'm very new to osCommerce but am getting the hang of it. I want to install the Ultimate SEO Urls contribution but am getting an error

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/afewbeer/public_html/kewmacadamias/product/su_autoinstaller/autoinstaller.php on line 9

The site is in a subdomain with it's own seperate index, the osCommerce cart is in a directory of that subdomain called product, let's call it all subdomain.domain/product/. I don't have the term/word catalog anywhere and gather that is the general name given to the install directory when doing the installation manually of osCommerce. I installed it through fantastico and have version 2.2rc2. The installation instructions say

Upload the su_autoinstaller folder to your store root :

www.yoursite.com/catalog/su_autoinstaller

so I'm assuming this means the equivalent to my product directory?

Other contributions I have installed include AusBank v1.4a, AustPOST3.011c, loginbox v2.3_1_2 and Vertical Center v1.

I have spent days reading here and don't think I can read much more. I have searched for the answer to this for about an hour so far but my brain is now arguing with me and saying no more

The first time I tried to "install" this contribution I had Use Search-Engine Safe URLs (still in development) in My Store set to false. I uploaded the su_autoinstaller to the product directory on my site and then directed my browser to subdomain.domain/product/su_autoinstaller/ at which point I receive the above error. I then deleted the su_autoinstaller directory, went back in and changed the Search-Engine Safe URLs to true in My Store, reuploaded teh su_autoinstaller directory and again got the same error message.

On looking at line 9 of the autoinstaller.php file says public $xml_filename = "install.xml"; however I know nothing about php and don't know what this error means.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong please?

First, never use the search engine friendly option.

I am not familiar with the autoinstaller.php. It is not part of the oscommerce shop. But if your shop is located in the su_autoinstaller directory, then you need to edit the .htaccess file so the path for Ultimate SEO includes that.

Apologies for not replying to this sooner but ......you don't want to know.

Thankyou Jack but I don't think I explained myself properly. The su autoinstaller is part of the Ultimate SEO URLs contribution that I downloaded from http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2823. My shop is not located in it, I am meant to (and did) uploade the SU_autoinstaller folder to the shop root. I am then meant to direct my browser to the SU_autoinstaller directory and I assume at that point I should be getting like a wizard or something to guide me through the insallation of Ultimate SEO URLs but instead I am getting the error message.
