DamanC Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Hi guys, my site is due to be finisehd in the next few weeks and I am currenly looking at the security side of things. I have read the guides that have been very helpful but still have a couple of questions. Background Info; UK Based site selling electrical goods that range from £350 - £3000. Customers will purchase 1 item, average price is about £700. In theory they will come back a couple of years later for another, but for arguements sake, £700 one off purchase. I use Paypal websites standard and express checkout. I ship to the UK and the UK only. Obviosly because of the costs involved, I am very concerned about fraud. Chargebacks they seem to be the nasty thing here. Last thing I want is a bank romping large amounts of money from my account. My question is simply how can I prevent them or anything else I should know about? Insured shipping - I understand this fully. If its worth £700, insure it for that. If anything goes wrong, the shipping company are responsable. Ship only to billing address? Very inconvenient for customers? Use the billing address given @ paypal? How are customer details verified? Paypal? Sorry for the confusing post, im just very confused buy it all. Thanks Daman

web-project Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Surely paypal has decent fraud protection? from my experience the answer is No. PayPal never check the AVS or 3D security. DamanC Posted April 29, 2009 Author Posted April 29, 2009 Hi Alex, what do you make of this: https://www.paypal-business.co.uk/website-p...rd-features.asp It looks like paypal are actaully looking good. Whilst they dont do "AVS" they have "address verification" which I suppose will show once the payment is processed IE - From a "Verified Account". Details would have to be correct as there is a credit or debit card tied to the account?
