Dell-style "configurator"

Hi, I'm new to this site, so let me first say hello to everyone.

I'm building an e-commerce site to sell the computers I build. I've been looking for a software that would allow my customers to configure their computers, much like you can do at Dell's site, for example. I can find tons of shopping carts out there, but I can't seem to find a "configurator". I'm probably not using the right wording in my searches. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't know how to call this but "configurator", which doesn't' sound quite well to me (but then again, English is not my first language).

I'm using Dell's site just as an example. I would be happy with any solution that allows me to fill a database with the different components, create some rules about how the user can put them together, etc.

Thanks for any advice.

I was hoping for an open source osCommerce plugin, but thanks anyway.

I'm a bit surprised there's so little out there about this. I mean, there are many computer stores in need for it.

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
