Remove a box from the index.php page

I am wanting to remove a box on my index.php page. The box is in the middle of the page. Here is the link to the page: http://texasleadership.org/cart/index.php The box I am wanting to remove is the "New courses for April". On what .php page is the code on so that I can remove it?

In catalog/index.php find

			<td><?php include(DIR_WS_MODULES . FILENAME_NEW_PRODUCTS); ?></td>

Change to

			<td><?php //include(DIR_WS_MODULES . FILENAME_NEW_PRODUCTS); ?></td>

There are 2 instances of this. The first one shows when clicking on a category that has subcategories. The second one shows when you first access the index page (the one you are showing now).

Thanks for the quick response. I made the change you suggested and I got the following result.

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I put back the original index.php and I still got the same error message.

What did I do wrong and how do I fix it?

The code above is just a simple comment line. All it does is comment out that line of php code. It does not produce an internal error or a misconfiguration.

Did you make any changes to .htaccess? Did you use the correct index.php file? Post the code for your catalog/index.php.

I agree a simple comment shouldn't cause a 500 error. I did not mess with the .htaccess file. I used the index.php at the highest level since I don't have a catalog folder.

Check your error logs in your servers cpanel. It should tell you where the error is. If you can't find it contact your host they should be able to tell you.

I mention .htaccess because some servers don't let you put things like " php_flag_register_globals off ". If they don't allow that and it is in there that will throw that error. Instead you need to put settings like that in a php.ini file.

Yeah, I checked my cpanel error log last night after this happened. This is what it said:

SoftException in Application.cpp:252: File "/home/txleader/public_html/cart/index.php" is writeable by group

[sun Apr 26 10:50:46 2009] [error] [client 90.230.202.42] File does not exist: /home/txleader/public_html/404.shtml

I'm not sure what this could mean except maybe for a syntax error, but I loaded back the original code in index.php and still got the same message.

SoftException in Application.cpp:252: File "/home/txleader/public_html/cart/index.php" is writeable by group

Make sure the file permissions are set to 644. If that doesn't work then try 444. To edit the file the permissions will have to be 644, 444 is read only for everyone. See if that works.
