lchrist486 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Hey guys, So I'm adding in the download options for my products. In the product attribute section of the admin I've created 3 options. The problem is I need them in a specific order. I've tried entering them in a specific order but that doesn't seem to work. Is there anyway to control this or do I just have to live with it? Thanks!

I would think that using phpadmin, you could reorder the options in the database, but which field specifically, I can not tell you. Just remember before touching your database, BACKUP!!!!! Guest Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Hi, Any chance of a link to the contribution for sorting attributes? thanks
acbatchelor Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 any of these should work http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2673 http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/1690 http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2924
kuai Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 you may have to live with it. Hopefully the osC team will address the attribute problem with v.3 and make it a priority since so many shops need a workable attributes section. attributes work fine but you CAN NOT track inventory properly. I've tried every option to track inventory, but it's futile. If you find a workable solution, please contact me.
kuai Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I'm finding out that it's better to have additional pages in your store than trying to get the attributes to work. It's a little time consuming to add each item of different size, color, or whatever you have. by doing this, Google has indexed over 1000 pages in my store and continues to do so. I did a general search on google for my products, and I was on the first 3 pages of the search results. My store was there with stores that have been in business for 8-10 years. I expected to end up on page 30 of the search. my store has been online for almost a month. I don't know how and if Google indexes the attributes of each product. You may have a page with 1 widget and 50 attributes. Is google going to index just this one page for this widget? Or would it be better to have 50 pages! Kuai
