Dreadz Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Hi All, I'm totally new to osCommerce and a relative lightweight when it comes to website management. However due to finanical difficulties and my limited knowledge (extensive knowledge when compared to the company owners) I've been given the task of managing the website for them. I've been given the username and password for the oscommerce site so I am able to login and make (limited) changes. However I'd like to use Microsoft Web Expression 2 to make changes, then FTP those changes back to the site. So my first question is this, is there a different username/password that grants access to the certain files/folders on the osCommerce site? When i try to access the files/folders using smartftp i continue to receive a "login failed" error message. If i'm going about this in the wrong way, i'd appreciate any general help as well. Thanks, Dreadz
ChrisBroadhurst Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 You need to ask your boss what the ftp log in details are these are usually the same as the log in details for your hosting account NB your main hosting control panel NOT admin log in details for oscommerce. I have a feeling you are trying to ftp with the wrong log in details.......

daddiosquared Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Can you use expression web to edit oscommerce? I have tried it and all I get is blank tables when I pull up the pages. I read somewhere else in the forum that is all you get and you have to edit the php without wyswig. Do you know if that is true? Thanks! Bob
