gavk Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Hi guys, I have installed osC 2.2RC locally and it all works fine with the shopping cart on my XAMPP server, however when I upload my site to an actual online server when I attempt to add something to the cart it by clicking the 'Add to Cart' button it simply redirects me to the shopping cart page without adding the items to the cart. Any ideas on why it would do this as it strangely enough works fine locally on my testing machine?? Thanks in advance
web-project Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 check the cookies or session settings, as it's main issue with your problem Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here! 8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.

Thanks in advance It is best to install the same osc version on the web, then upload all files except the two configure.php files (and then import the database if you if you have made changes). The php and mysql versions should be the same (or near enough). There may be minor tweaking, depending on what else has been changed.
gavk Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 Hi guys, I have done further debugging and the only difference between my localhost and online server is the localhost version which is working ok is on PHP5, while the online server is the older PHP4 version - would this make such a difference, if so does anyone have any further information that would help me fix the problem. Thanks in advance
gavk Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 strange - works fine in php5, but not in php4. Oh well i'll never be using an old php4 web host again :)
