osCommerce

The e-commerce.

Would it be easier to change to Joomla?

I have an OS site (http://www.uk-sportspsychology.co.uk) which has had problems since Jan 09. The issue started when my brother (who orignally set it up) tried to install a flash Carousel onto the products main page. Since then all pages in the admin folder are blank such as http://www.uk-sportspsychology.co.uk/admin...inistrators.php,

.... admin/affiliate_affiliates.php etc.

This means when I get an order I don't know what it is. I can't update products etc. The affiliate login and everything else works it's just this admin folder pages.

I have reinstalled this folder but nothing changes? I have considered getting a new web server and re-installing but this would mean populating all the products again. Alternatively I have been told it would be quicker to switch to Joomla which is apparently more user friendly for those of us who are not programmers and don't really understand when something goes wrong.

Any opinions on the quickest resolution?

Thanks

Steve

most likely you have errorts & Turn off all error reporting with

error_reporting(0);

in application_top, turn it back on with

// Report all PHP errors
error_reporting(E_ALL);

also you have a standard osC store, so backup dbase & restore to new site, there are plenty of tips here on how.

Always backup b4 any changes!!

Thanks for your reply.

I tried as your stated but now nothing works! Think I'll reinstall the whole thing. I did back up on two drives but got a virous sometime ago which got the hard drive and my external back up which was attached at the time!

Thanks anyway.

If you want my 2p worth, I would leave joomla well alone if you dont have any website interface knowledge, the reasons for this is the support forum on here is very very good compared to joomla, there is more addons etc available for OSC than joomla and OSC was designed from the outset to be a e-commece soultion, not a content management system converted for E-commerce.

If you would like me to take a look at your problem then just drop me a PM.

I dont help with templates (thats what the seller is for)

th search function will often help, when it dont try this in google.

it sounds to me that u are using file manager to edit, that breaks files, don`t use it.
