robshim Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Hello all, I know this is a common issue, but I can't resolve it. Just installed OS Commerce, flawless except . . . Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: . . . etc I have changed the file permissions to 644 and also 444. I have done the same with admin/includes/configure.php I have also done this: 'Reset the permissions on /catalog/includes/configure.php to 644 (if you are still getting the warning message at the top set configure.php to 444 which is read only - this happens on some servers that have been updated for security reasons). Set the permissions on /catalog/images directory to 777. Reset the permissions on /catalog/admin/includes/configure.php to 644. Create the dir /catalog/admin/backups and set the permissions to 777. Set the permissions on /catalog/admin/images/graphs directory to 777.' Still get the same error message? What next please? Rob
shellbevx Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Are you still having this problem? I had exactly the same problem but I couldn't change the permission via ftp to less than read and write for the user. Had to use a program called putty (SSH shell program) to do it. Then I could change the 2 files to 400
