in index.php, you have code (pretty much on the bottom) to show a category filter for certain manucaturers ... you can use this code, omitting the part where it limits to a certain manufacturer, to create a category dropdown box displaying all categories for all products. you will need some coding experience to do this this ... copy and paste will not do.
