agtlewis
Hello, I have added a navigation bar to the top of my website. The links in the header do not pass along a session id if one is assigned because I did not code them to do that, but I also noticed that some of the other links, including links in the categories box don't pass a session id either. It appears totally random to me and the site seems to work perfectly with or without them. ie my shopping cart doesn't lose products, once your logged in you don't get logged out unless you close the browser or click on logout. I am wondering how osCommerce uses sessions and what purpose they are used for. I am tempted just to disable them completely. If you need to review the site for further information it is www.astions.com . I would also appreciate any feedback on the design changes as well. Guest
Ben, It's the cookies that work for you and not the sessions. Turn your browser cookies off and try it again.....You lose your cart, have to log in again etc., if you click one of the header links and then try to checkout... agtlewis
So this script implements both sessions and cookies. I see. 99% of people have cookies enabled so I will most likely disable sessions. If anyone thinks this is a bad idea let me know.
