mattseed Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Hi, Is it possible to hide the prices in some product attributes option values? I've set a page here: http://horse-stock.com/catalog/product_inf...;products_id=28 You'll notice there are two product attributes - resolution and usage. I want the prices for usage to be hidden. Eventually there will be more options for each one, but this is just a test. Many thanks, Matt.
FIMBLE Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Can be done but i have to ask why as its an attribute and supposed to be a choice, there may be another way of getting what you want from this. Nic Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post My Contributions
mattseed Posted April 13, 2009 Author Posted April 13, 2009 Hi Nic, I've thought long and hard on this and decided that if the prices for usage rights were listed, since it doesn't affect the image they'll be downloading - some dishonest people may just choose the cheapest option. Also, reseaching this further, Getty Images who are one of the largest stock photo library's on the net adopt a similar method. Thanks again, Matt.
FIMBLE Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Thats fine, i m getting confused to how the user will select the attribute if they do not see it Nic Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post My Contributions
mattseed Posted April 13, 2009 Author Posted April 13, 2009 Thanks Nic, I want them to be able to see the attribute ( there will be several: 1 week, 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, etc) but not see the price for each attribute. That's what I want to be hidden. Hope that makes sense. Thanks, matt.
FIMBLE Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Ah! with you now, but will they still not know that a week will be cheaper than a month? Its up to you how you go im just thinking as a customer nic Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post My Contributions
mattseed Posted April 13, 2009 Author Posted April 13, 2009 Hi Nic, I do know what you mean, but I do think not showing the price for "Usage Rights" attribute is the best approach - at least for now. Any idea of how best to go about it? Thanks, Matt.
FIMBLE Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Maybe the use of radio buttons? There are contribution for this type though im not sure they show the price or not, you may have to alter the code Nic Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post My Contributions
