hmh Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Hi, I am new to this and I made a grave error! I was editing in the admin folder and I made some unknown mistakes. When I tired to refresh the page, I got this error message: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '%' in /home/nailslov/public_html/admin/includes/functions/general.php on line 93 Now I cannot access the site at all to rectify my errors. Can anyone kindly let me know what am I supposed to do? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Restore your general.php file from the backup you made before you started making changes, and ftp it to the server.
hmh Posted April 12, 2009 Author Posted April 12, 2009 Hi, Thanks for your reply but I cannot access the admin site at all so how can I restore the backup file I previously stored? Sorry if I sound stupid but I am really new to this. Thanks!

Sorry if I sound stupid but I am really new to this. Thanks! thats the backup to your database (like your products, options, etc.). you need a backup of your actual general.php file
hmh Posted April 12, 2009 Author Posted April 12, 2009 Oh I actually found the general.php file already but how do I restore it? Thanks!
acbatchelor Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 if you don't have the backup you can redownload the store from this website and just replace the general.php file using ftp.
♥geoffreywalton Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 You can use an ftp client, known as a program to normal people, to copy a file from your pc to a web site, Amongst the free ftp clients are filezilla or cuteftp So if you have an original/unaltered copy on your pc you can restore this to your site when you mess up.
