chrisjchrisjchrisj Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 I'm using a php script for a web site where visitors to the site can keyword search to find specific files. I'd like the vistors to pay for files before they can view them. So, I'm looking for a solution that can see the number searched multiply that by a set dollar amount, send the vistitor to pay that amount via Paypal, and return the visitor to a protected page to view the document in a unique session. Is osCommerce the solution fo this application?
MrPhil Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 osC can sell "digital downloads", where once the item(s) are paid for, the customer is given a way to download them. It probably wouldn't be a large step to have a page that displays the files instead, but that would be some custom programming.

What about this part of my question "So, I'm looking for a solution that can see the number searched multiply that by a set dollar amount"? I look forward to your comments.
MrPhil Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Digital downloads are priced individually like any other item, and are put in the shopping cart and go through checkout. Instead of a physical delivery, the customer is notified of how to download. You'd have to change that last part to view the page on line rather than downloading a file. If that's more complicated than you'd like, osC is not the solution for you.

Yes, I'd be interested in modifying osCommerce so that all digital products are one set price. can anyone help me with that?

Is osCommerce setup so that the locations of the files to be downloaded are concealed in some way? Also, can it be setup so the download links expire? Mahalo ~ CWD
