The more links you can provide, the faster the pages get indexed, generally speaking. So, yes, in my opinion, you should have them both. In addition to that benefit though, SiteMap SEO provides a useful page for your customers to get around the site. And google sitemap allows google to provide a lot of useful information about your site. So neither, in that regard, offer the complete solution.
