Tax not added for logged in users

I've recently been told about a problem where logged in users or users who create a new account prior to checking out aren't being charged tax on their carts. However, there is a module which allows checkout without creating an account, and the tax is applied properly to those users. Apparently, this is only happening on products that were added or modified after a recent server change. For instance, if I have two products in my cart (one that has been modified or added since the move, one that has not), I will not get charged tax. If I have only the unmodified product in my cart, I get charged tax.

Would anybody be able to help me track down why this would be happening?

Thank you.

the tax class is mapped to zones. If your zone (when logged in) is not in one of the zones, tax will not be added.

My advise is to create one geo zone (the 2nd zone link in admin) and double click that zone. Be sure to add no zones into that geo zone and by defaul the tax will be charged with every logged in customer.

Hope this helps.
