Products showing multiple times in specials.php

If we have the same product in two different categories and we put that item on sale, it will show up multiple times on the specials.php page. Is there a way to have the product only show once since it is the same product?

 

See how the same product is displayed multiple times:

 

 

The products have a different product ID, but they are the same product....just listed in multiple categories.

Do you link the products? If so try just copying them. :)
